Pressure vacuum breaker (PVB)

Overview/Benefits

• Provide reliable protection from back siphonage only for low, moderate or high risk systems.
• Careful consideration shall be given to the possibility of improper use of PVB devices, e.g., when a downstream connection is made that would permit back pressure to occur.
• The critical level must be located at least 300 mm above the overflow level of the fixture, container or accessory.
• Requires no drain.
• Should not be installed below ground level, in a pit or a vault.
